Training Muay Thai in Thailand

I've been traveling to Thailand for the past 10 years to train Muay Thai. About 5 years ago Enson introduced me to former Lumpini Stadium Champion Santien Noi and made it possible for me to train under Santien at his gym about an hour north of Bangkok.

The first thing I noticed is how it differs from a lot of the gyms you find on the internet advertising Muay Thai training in Thailand. There are no fancy rooms. No email access. No shopping malls. It is a gym, plain and simple. 100% isolation.

Everyone welcomed me with open arms. We ate and trained together everyday. Don't let the picture fool you, those smiling kids are some of the most talented and dedicated kickboxers I have ever met.

To say the training was intense would be an understatement lol.

In the future, I hope to schedule a yearly trip for Kaminari Dojo students/fighters to train in Thailand.
