We just finished up the new gym. The first thing many of you will notice is that it is a little different from your normal martial arts school in America.
The new Kaminari Dojo resembles what many gyms look like in Japan both in size and the customs used within.
Upon entering, members may place there shoes to the left. This will go a long ways in keeping the mats clean.
Some wonder why there is a lack of mat space but, you'd be suprised at the quality of training you can get by having less mat space.
I have been on mats no larger than this with many of the biggest names in the sport and come away with a ton of new tricks!
Also, notice that we now have walls to work off of. This will do wonders in helping us train for competition as we will now be able to simulate being in a cage and/or ring!

Looks good,..very Japanese as mentioned and yes I agree,..sometimes the smaller the space the better the training.
